Kimba/Cobalt ~ Shetland pony gelding ~ 12 years old
~ 11.3 hh ~ $2400 We call him Kimba but he was Cobalt for a while at his last home. He was a lesson pony for years and then was purchased by one of his riders. She owned him for 4 years then sold him to me. She showed him and won a lot on him, English and jumping. He is a very safe and gentle pony, bombproof, goes out on the trail alone or in a group. Healthy, great feet, beautiful, perfect for any ability child including a beginner in lessons. Loves to go bareback too! Big change in financial circumstances forces sale, otherwise I'd keep him forever! Look for the videos below: lead line, trail ride and lesson. Barefoot natural hoof care (very sound!), teeth power floated on November 1. |

Update: Kimba sold in October 2010 but I bought him back because the buyers were having trouble with him. He is nothing short of amazing here so I don't know what the problem was... He was a bit agitated when I first bought him myself and brought him here but I am very experienced and good at causing horses to calm down and become respectful and obedient, and while I do use him for beginners in lessons, I don't recommend him for a beginner family after this incident. A experienced kid who's ready to show or an intermediate child with an experienced parent would be my pick. During the week that the buyers had Kimba, they asked for contact info of people who know him, and four people wound up writing letters to them about Kimba. I have compiled those letters in case you wish to see them: click here. Video of Kimba taken November 5 - short video taken on an iPhone - his first ride with one of my students since he came back from the people who had bought him:
Video taken November 8 of me clipping him. He was totally calm for this and really helped me out!
Kimba can also do lead line and birthday parties. These were taken September 13, 2010:

Video of our trail ride on September 20, 2010. Kimba was great and did not spook at all, even with deer, turkeys, rabbits. And he got right in the lake and swam!
